Quiet Dog-Friendly Weekend in Ojai

It was our second visit to the beautiful Ojai (pronounced: ‘oh-hi’) and it won’t be our last. Located just an hour northwest of Los Angeles and east of Santa Barbara. We first discovered this city when a friend posted beautiful photos of Ojai Valley Resort, the gorgeous Moroccan inspired luxury hotel where she stayed, and also pictures local shops and restaurants she visited in town. Pictures alone pique my interest in visiting.

I recently learned that chain stores are prohibited by the city to encourage the development of small businesses and keep the small town character. They are so serious about this they don’t even allow neon signs! I appreciate the authenticity of Ojai and this same sentiment is felt for the visitors it attracts. Ojai is a favorite to a lot famous and important people, Ellen DeGeneres and Anthony Hopkins to name a few.

A couple of days of relaxation, eating and a little bit of hiking is just what we need. My recommendations (locals approved!) for the perfect getaway with your furry baby.
